is fundraising to support:
Let’s chase that chicken!
The LexisNexis Southeast Asia team is organizing a Chicken Run to support the purchase of food supplies (including chicken!) for a group of young B40 learners who are currently studying and training for jobs in the renewable energy industry. Learn more below:
LexisNexis is an organization under RELX, a leading global knowledge provider.
RELX Cares supports employee and corporate engagement that makes a positive impact on society through volunteerism and giving. In addition to local initiatives of importance to employees, RELX Cares aligns with its business strengths by focusing on education for disadvantaged young people which furthers:
• universal, sustainable access to information
• advance of science and health
• the protection of society
• the promotion of rule of law and access to justice
The 2021-2022 theme is quality, inclusive education for disadvantaged young people, in alignment with the RE Cares mission.
In line with that, LexisNexis Southeast Asia is partnering with SOLS 24/7. Their leading initiative is the SOLS Solar Academy, which aims to train B40 youth in English Communication, Solar Installation Skills and Professional Skills, through a 12-month training programme. The students will be able to study while working in the field of solar PV system installation or electric vehicle (EV) charging station installation, followed by real industry apprenticeship and full-time job opportunities. Students are selected from rural and urban poor communities, from all over Malaysia, including Sabah & Sarawak. The funds raised will go towards covering food and accommodation expenses for the students, including the purchase of chicken meat which is the staple source of protein for the SOLS Solar Academy students – hence the name Chicken Run!
