We have met our fundraising goal!
Thank you to all our donors and fundraisers for your generosity.
The life of a student from a B40 family is not effortless at all. It has always been very challenging and full of obstacles and hardships. As the eldest child of a family with 3 siblings, I faced many struggles during my school times due to financial issues. Since only my father was working, our whole family was depending on him and I was not able to go to tuition classes or other extracurricular classes to expand my talents.
I can always relate to fellow B40 peoples’ struggles and obstacles, which has caused me to support and encourage other students from B40 families. Although I had huge dreams and aspirations in my life, financial issues and related pressures always stood in the way to drag me away from my dreams and goals.
I can still remember the day I started using a mobile phone during my STPM period when I bought my first handphone using my first salary. Those days, I had no access to WIFI and other fancy internet accommodation that is available today. The only place I could use the internet was at my school computer lab. However, all these struggles have never stopped me from achieving my dreams.
I have realized one thing as a B40 student, life is never the same if someone helps you financially to pursue your dream. At that moment I said to myself that I should start helping others just the way I was helped by others. My uncle was a huge inspiration behind my actions. Therefore, in those days it was manageable to study without a mobile phone, laptop, and internet accommodations. However, the same ideology does not fit the current scenario.
The emergence of COVID-19 has caused schools to perform virtual classes and embrace hybrid learning. Limited or lagging internet connections, lack of gadgets and study tools, and poverty have posed extra challenges for B40 students in schools and higher education students. These factors have pushed them to lose their interest in studies, as they express worries about falling behind and having no future.
Therefore, lets we put our hands together to help these B40 students and family to cope with this difficult situation by donating and giving our money for their betterment and bright future
Let’s work together!! Thank you.
