Hi, my name is Lisa Binti Musa. I am 22 years old living in Kampung Selwej, Pos Kemar, Gerik, Perak.
Last year I was informed and shocked by my own aunt that our house was destroyed by wild elephants at night when there were 6 people in the house and there were 6 families in the village. Some of the villagers’ houses including mine were destroyed by wild elephants.
For a while we stayed at a relative’s house.
A bit about myself & my family background. Currently I am volunteering with Teacher Ayu who is running her own Community center in Kuala Betis, Gua Musang Kelantan as an assistant teacher. Getting some allowance around RM 500 a month.
My father and mother got divorce many years ago. Now I live with my mother and my aunty.
My mother and my aunt are just a rubber tapper and work as laborers, for side income my mother and aunt sell the bamboo total income Rm 50 to 60 a week.
Difficulties
The location of my village settlement is located in the lake area and the journey to my village has two routes, the land route and the river route.
The land route will take 2 hours up to 3 hours depending on the road conditions, the road conditions are bad during the rainy season and the journey will take a long time to reach the village.
Traveling through the river we will rent a boat fare but the journey will only take 1 hour from Royal belum Jati or Trojan Jati.
Define the solution
Costing required to rebuild my house:
With a sense of humility , I would like to request funds from friends to rebuild my house.
